It’s a well-known fact that children are subject to the teachings of their parents, good, bad or indifferent. What separates the sane from the insane is one’s ability to think independently. In many circles, this is called free will or agency. The internet, currently, is cluttered with so-called experts on the subject of religion, in light of each presidential candidate’s preference.
We have Oboma professing to be a Christian, though many believe he’s a Muslim; Gingrich, who was a Protestant before he became a Catholic; Romney is undoubtedly LDS; and Santorum is Catholic. The rest don’t care to say or aren’t threatening enough for the lame-stream media to waste their ink on.
Commentators and comedians foam at the mouth brainlessly articulating personal opinions as to who’s the most frightening candidate of all. The born-again bunch wants to support someone but as Santorum maintains his righteous tirades, they’re bristling at the possibility that, as president, Santorum might intertwine his religion with political judgments.
Next we have Gingrich who, outside of some minor gaffes, has stayed afloat by trying to stick with primary issues.
Romney is not ashamed of the fact that he is LDS (Mormon) and rarely discusses it publicly. Most of his detractors seem to know very little about his religion, yet are inclined to make value judgments in spite of that fact.
Oboma has declared that our country is neither a Christian nor a Jewish nation, ignoring the fact that America was founded – and our Constitution based – upon exactly that most elementary outline. He professes to be Christian, yet attends church only one or two times a year. The media, who live to destroy Romney and Santorum, specifically, are silent as the Muslim world declares Obama one of their own. “His father was Muslim, therefore he will always be one of us,” is their dictum.
This writer is continually amazed at the loquacious dribble oozing from the mouths of those who claim haughty religiosity. To be a true Catholic, LDS, Protestant (including Evangelical, Born Again, etc.), one supposedly avows allegiance to Christ and His teachings. The follower, more or less, takes on the mantel or cloak of Christ, acting in His name and trying to be more loving in the acceptance of others. Amazed, I repeat, because those who wear their religion on their sleeves are the most inclined to back-bite those who are not “like me.” Whatever happened to love your neighbor or the bearing of false witness?
He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone (John 8:7). In those days, the crowd walked away condemned by their own consciences. But, hey, nowadays everything is okay as long as it feels good. Right?
Personally, I don’t care who ascends to the presidency, as long as he gets gas prices down, cuts our food budget, puts people back to work, stops illegal drug trafficking, and defends our borders on all sides. America needs to be a strong country again and if Oboma is reelected, he will rein terror loose in America as never before seen. His actions are destroying the middle class and digging a deeper hole for the nation’s poor.
Those getting a free ride now don’t give a hoot about their own children. Those kids will not have Social Security, potholes in roads will never be filled, sewer water will drain into rivers, crime will be rampant, and garbage will lay uncollected. Why? These are government services needing workers to provide them. When the money isn’t available, these and hundreds of other services will be cut off.
How’s not getting involved working for ya, kids?
